第８５回東日本学生相撲選手権大会

幹事会では亀山弘行さん（３５年卒）の呼び掛けで十数名による応援団を結成し「第８５回東日本学生相撲選手権大会」に出場する松永六十四君（日本体育大学３年相撲部、平成16年卒）と中野実君（専修大学北海道短期大学２年相撲部、平成17年卒）の活躍振りを観戦し応援しました。

日時　平成１８年６月４日（日）
会場　両国国技館

大会開始前、選手達は稽古場の壁に掛けられた「錬磨」「心技体」の額を前に汗を流し練習に励む姿があり、我が応援団も身の引き締まる思いで見学させていただきました。

松永六十四君（３年３段）は団体戦で先鋒として出場。予選、決勝トーナメントの全てに勝ち進み、準決勝の東農戦でも勝ったが団体戦としては一勝及ばず日本体育大学は昨年と同率の３位となる。しかし六十四君は強く東農戦で個人優勝した田中大陽選手を破りその活躍振りが伺えました。
無口でおとなしい六十四君は「教職課程を取り、高校教諭となって後輩の指導にあたりたい」と語っていました。

個人戦に出場した中野実君（２年２段）は来年は本校に転入予定であり、大いに期待したい選手です。
秋には「全日本学生選手権大会」が開催されます。皆さんでエールを送り松永、中野両君の活躍に期待しましょう。
